'consumable' spare parts.
Please use the PARTS Order Form to order all listed parts
or see our Contact page for more information.
Pinball Medic Amusements requires a $15 Minimum total on orders of solid state electronic parts, hardware and other components listed on this page.
However, the order total may
include other game parts (cap kits, ring kits, etc) to satisfy this minimum purchase requirement.
Pinball Medic recommends:
1) Replacing the pinball game consumable parts after doing electronic circuit
board repair
playfield cleaning and mechanical device
refurbishment
2) Replace both the old rusty pinball
game ball and deteriorating playfield
rubber rings now before they can cause damage to the playfield.
3) Replacing the 10,000 or 15,000 uF capacitors and bridge rectifiers found in most pinball games will help stop a game from
resetting during a game or in the middle of multi-ball play.
4) Replacing the hotter running number 44 light bulb with the number 47 bulb can help reduce the possibility of playfield plastic warping and score board glass ink pealing.

Because of the high cost of shipping and handling of these low profit small electronic parts, we will no longer be shipping them to our customers outside of our
service area unless a large bulk order is made.
Circuit boards kits and used
large arcade items can still be ordered and shipped individually.
Parts needed for our game restorations and field service both take priority and a toll on our part inventories. Not all parts listed on this page are immediately available for local pickup.

LM323K
Limited Quantities in Inventory

Discontinued part |
Note: No longer available as a replaceable part.
We recommend replacing the power supply board Part is too obsolite and new replacement board is much improved over the stock power supply board. |
5 Volt 3 amp voltage regulator IC in a power transistor case.
This voltage regulator is no longer manufactured.
Consider new power supply board replacements. |
(Pin,Vid) - Used to regulate the +5 volt power supply.
General purpose voltage regulator used to regulate the main 5 volt logic power supply in older Solid State Williams, Bally and Stern pinballs and some video games.
This regulator IC has a high drop out voltage (game may reset if the line voltage gets too low) and over heats often. Use new heat sink compound when replacing and measure each wire lug to the metal heat sink
to insure there is not a short when replacing this regulator.
This regulator is one of the usual suspects when the game resets in the middle of a game (also, check for bad large electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board).
See 15,000uF cap part for more information. |

BYV 26D
coil diode polarity The BYV 26D can protect the game's electronics better then the original 1n4001 coil diode. |
4 for $1 An improved replacement for
the stock coil diode and switch matrix 1N4001
diode.
BYV 26D specs
PIV = 800 Volts @ 1 Amp | BYV 26d is a 800 Volt 1 A
Ultra Fast Recovery diode. It can replace 1n4001-1n4006 diodes. Data Sheet |
(Pin) - Solenoid Coils, Switch Matrix, Anti-Inductive Kick Back Prevention, Power Supplies
(Vid) - Coin-Lockout Coils, Power Supplies
Stock coil diodes are rated 50 Volt at 1 A (1N4001). These over-stressed diodes can short or become non-conductive at any time. Even a new, out of the box coil
can have defective or improperly (reversed polarity) installed diodes.
A faulty coil diode can cause pre-driver, driver power transistor and I/O chip destruction due to the "kick back" high voltage effect of the solenoid coil.
The BYV 26D is rated much higher in Voltage and lasts much longer then a stock coil diode part. It can be used on both solenoid coils and the switch matrix circuits inside a pinball game.
The BYV 26D is an Ultra Fast Recovery (fast switching) diode. The Ultra Fast switching time of this diode results in quick clamping and a greatly reduced inductive high voltage "kick back"
(spike) when a solenoid coil is de-energized.
Except for the new style flipper coils (1990-), most of the older series flipper coils require two diodes per coil. |
1N914
Switch Matrix Diode | 10 for $1 | 50 Volt 100mA low power signal diode Data Sheet |
(Pin) - Playfield Switches as switch isolator
(Vid) - Joy / Control Switch isolation
If defective - can cause two or more playfield switches to appear always activated or activate at the same time (phantom switches). The BYV 26D can be use as a substitute for the 1n914 diode. |

15,000 uF at 35 Volts, High Temp 105 degrees C. Radial Leads
 |
$4 each | Power Supply Voltage Filter capacitor
See Tech Tips for information on how many capacitors are needed per pinball system.
Also see WPC Cap kit. | (Pin) - Used on most Solid State pinballs from the 1970 - 1990's. Five are used on the
Williams system 11 power supply and driver board.
(Vid) - Power Supply or MPU boards
Number one cause of pinball game resetting during game play or not powering on (fuses and battery acid damage are also likely causes). Most of these capacitors are 20 plus years old and have
to be replaced. This capacitor can be used to substitute for 10,000 to 20,000 uF capacitors on Power Supply boards. Most older Bally, Williams, Stern and Data East power supply boards have at least one large capacitor on the +5 volt power line. Use this capacitor to replace the leaky one on your old power supply board.
See Tech Tips for more info. |
100 uf at 250 Volts
Axial Leads
out of stock | $4 each | High Voltage (HV) Power Supply Filter capacitor | (Pin) - Digital Display power supply on early solid state Bally and Stern pinball machines.
This capacitor can cause the high voltage display power supply to short or the destruction of the H. V. regulator's pass transistor and other circuit board damage (if leaking). Age usually is the issue with this capacitor. |
.22 Farad 5.5 Volt Memory Capacitor Gold Foil
Memory capacitors are the diameter of a dime and are about a quarter of an inch in width. A photo of our battery replacement board that uses this special capacitor is coming soon. |
See Part game use.
This special capacitor is not sold without a battery replacement board. | Used on our Battery Back-Up Eliminator Board. This capacitor never needs replacing and will not leak like a battery can. See comments for more info. |
(Pin,Vid) - Can be used to replace the batteries on MPU boards for powered off RAM memory data retention.
The battery backed-up memory typically holds game audits, status and 'high score to date' data. A pinball machine and some video games will boot to "audits mode" or can "lock-up" if the batteries are faulty.
Batteries can leak and destroy circuit boards, a very common problem.
A memory capacitor will never leak and never needs replacing.
This part is only sold installed on a Pinball Medic's Battery Eliminator Board or as a replacement component on mailed in or repair shop board work. See Board Repair or Parts pages.
A diode on the MPU board usually has to be jumpered out to use a memory capacitor instead of the batteries. This is an easy to do process and the battery eliminator board comes with detailed instructions. |
Williams WPC, WPC-89, WPC-S Random Reset Cure Capacitor Kit
Five 15,000 uF capacitors two jumper wires |
$20 per Cap Kit
Repairs one pinball per kit. | Kit contains the large capacitors located on the power supply / solenoid driver board on Williams WPC systems.
Tech Note: Low Line voltage and even loose circuit board screws can cause game resets. | (Pin,Vid) - If your game resets in the middle of a game then this Cap Kit will help prevent this from happening.
Old large electrolytic capacitors loose their ability to hold a charge and therefore can't hold power supply voltages steady. When the main logic voltage drops (usually during multi-ball mode) the game will reset (reboot) and
end the current game.
See Tech Tips for more information. |
Williams WPC, WPC-89, WPC-S
Deluxe Random Reset Cure Kit
Out of stock
Deluxe Random Reset Cure Kit contains five 15,000 uF capacitors and one 400 volt, 35 Amp wire lug (one lug offset from the others) metal body bridge rectifier | $25 per Cap Kit
Repairs one pinball per kit. | Kit contains the large capacitors and bridge rectifier number 2 located on the power supply board on WPC systems.
The deluxe wpc kit helps cure random game resets and game rebooting when one or both flippers are energized. |
(Pin,Vid) - If your game resets in the middle of a game then this Deluxe Game Reset Cure Kit will help prevent this from happening.
This kit has the same capacitors as the Random Reset Cure kit with an additional wire lead bridge rectifier (BR2).
When a flipper activation causes the game to reset this usually indicates one or more bad coil diodes (see part for more info) or a combination of bad main power supply capacitors and a bad BR2 bridge rectifier.

THREADED METAL SCREWS Kits by Pinball System Manufacturer are coming soon | $1
Box of 8 | Lock washer is attached to the bottom of the screw head. Use a Philips screw driver or square head nut driver for installation. |
(Pin) - Used on older Solid State pinballs to mount circuit boards to the backbox.
All older solid state pinballs have corroded circuit board mounting screws. These screws
can provide the only path to ground for the MPU, Solenoid Driver, Sound and Display driver boards. Gottlieb, Williams, Bally and Data East, Stern pinball circuit boards all suffer from badly designed ground paths.
A rusty or missing screw can cause hum on the sound amplifier, weak solenoids and game resets. Battery acid damage can easily cause these important screws to rust and not make a good ground to circuit board connection. |
